These books were being reprinted with a different printer, which necessitated a change in page size from 6½″ × 6½″ to 7¼″ × 7¼″. The layout also had to be changed from facing pages to continuous pagination to allow for a bleed in the gutter. The text panels were kept in place while the margins were increased, and some elements like the headers and callout boxes were pushed out into the margins more.
While editing the layout, I recommended changing the body text from Myriad Pro regular at an 80 percent tint of black (which looked fuzzy when printed, thanks to the way that offset printing works) to Myriad Pro light at 100 percent black. This made the text appear sharper without appearing heavier, and it increased readability in print. I also increased the tint of the callout boxes in the margins for better readability.
